Newsflash

Borderlands will be published in the US on 2nd September 2008 by St Martin's Minotaur. Ken Bruen, author of the Jack Taylor series, has reviewed the book in advance of publication:

'Borderlands has me, dare I say, green with envy. It's rare I'm jealous of a debut novel, but I'm ferociously so of this stunning work. Devlin, the main character of this new series, is going to join the ranks of Rebus, Resnick, Davenport and Scudder as one of the reference points of character series. Not only is the writing a sheer blast of dark lyricism but the plot is utterly compulsive. Dammit, I muttered, it can't be this good, it is... it's better. This is not only a wonderous addition to the growing canon of Irish mystery writing, it's a terrific bonus to mystery writing as a whole.'

Gallows Lane will be available in the US in September, published by Thomas Dunne Books. Some of the pre-release reviews are listed below.

'Outstanding... This quietly compelling procedural contains much buried passion, especially in the never acknowledged mutual attraction between Devlin and his female partner. Readers will be gripped as they watch this driven Irish detective seek his place in the moral landscape. (Publishers Weekly Starred Review)

'This oustanding follow-up to McGilloway's spectacular debut, Borderlands, confirms the Irish writer's place on the A-list of European procedural authors.'' (Booklist Starred Review)

'Devlin, best of fathers and least politic of coppers, is a helluva hero, elbowing his way through a gritty plot.' (Kirkus)

'Refreshing in its outlook, this procedural showcases a rising star in full command of his craft. Strongly recommended.' (Library Journal)
